Web Content

This section of my portfolio contains screenshots and screen recordings of web content that I helped develop as a communications manager for a university research institute. Most of the examples are highlights from a website refresh I led for the institute.

Matter Labs Language

One of the directors at the institute created the entity 'Matter Labs' to encompass the three labs he managed. We created a webpage that groups the labs under this name and links to their individual sites, and developed the language above. We also worked with the university's central communications team to get a distinct identity for 'Matter Labs.' This is a great example of how to navigate branding-related requests while adhering to corporate standards and guidelines.

Groups, Centers, and Labs Navigation

We updated the 'Groups, Centers, and Labs' tab to include the main entities under the institute so users could more easily navigate to them.

Giving to ICTAS Page

Before the refresh, the 'Giving to ICTAS' page didn't list the specific departments for giving or provide certain details about how to give. These updates provided clearer direction, making potential donors more likely to give.

Stewardship Page

We created a Stewardship page that houses giving and scholarships, as previously, giving and scholarships were not grouped together or labeled within the same category. This clearly communicates the institute's efforts to serve both students and the Virginia Tech community, which is a part of the university's larger mission of service.
